Thirdhand Smoke Research Consortium
Thirdhand smoke is the chemical residue that is left behind on clothes, skin, furniture, walls, and other surfaces after someone smokes. The mixture of pollutants in thirdhand smoke is toxic to humans, especially children.
In 2011, TRDRP became the first funding agency in the world to initiate research on thirdhand smoke (THS). In the years since, the multi-investigator, multi-disciplinary Thirdhand Smoke Research Consortium has grown to include new areas of research such as THS remediation and has informed national, state and local policies.
