The Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program (TRDRP) is
offering the Cornelius Hopper Diversity Award Supplement
(CHDAS) to currently-funded
TRDRP principal investigators. This supplement is for the
training of promising individuals in the field of tobacco-related
disease research. TRDRP recognizes the value to science
and society of increasing the diversity of investigators
doing tobacco-related disease research and in encouraging
these investigators to address the specific needs of underserved
populations. Persons of diverse training, background, and
experience will greatly enrich the California research enterprise,
making it potentially more effective in tackling issues
surrounding tobacco-related disease and tobacco control.
All TRDRP-funded principal investigators are encouraged
to seek out and identify underrepresented students, fellows,
and eligible members of underserved communities for
this training opportunity.
